The Waterside Safety Code:
- Keep your eyes and ears open for danger. Water
can be cold and deep with dangerous currents.
- Always go with an adult when near water. Stay
close to the rest of the group and stay in sight at all times.
- Don't wade into water unless an adult tells
you it is safe to do so. Never go deeper than welly depth.
- Don't splash water at other people or push them
over.
- Cover any cuts and scratches with waterproof
plasters and rubber gloves before you start work in the water.
- Don't get the water or wet objects in your mouth.
- Don't eat or drink whilst working. Wash your
hands in tap water after work.
